Rama Ramachenderan
Counsellor, Psychotherapist, and Coach

Clinical Member of both the Australian and American Counselling Associations, Member International Centre For Excellence in Emotionally Focussed Therapy.
Rama is an experienced Professional Counsellor and Educator who has worked in a variety of settings and countries. He provides individual and marriage and family counselling and is a specialist in Couples Counselling. He received his Master of Arts in Counselling from Denver Seminary and another Master of Arts in Marriage and Family from Biola University in California and is passionate about seeing his clients reach their full potential. He has been married to Josephine for 42 years and has three wonderful and successful adult children and 6 grandsons! He loves fishing and his garden is his paradise and quiet place for reflection. He also is an active member at Riverview Church in Burswood.
Rama has a wide experience of working with people. He has worked as a counsellor in the United States, Malaysia and Australia for the last 32 years.
He commenced his working life with the Malaysian Government, working within the Foreign Service. He then took a leap of faith by answering a deep calling to serve people by becoming a University Chaplain for a period of 14 years in Penang, Malaysia. He then completed his counselling training in the United States in 1985, graduating with a Master of Arts in Counselling in Denver and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counselling from Biola University, Los Angeles in 1987 which included 500 hours of internship. He also has a passion for teaching and growing new leaders in the field of Counselling. He was a Lecturer at Notre Dame University in Fremantle for 5 years and trained and taught counselling. He has also been a sessional lecturer at Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Harvest West Bible College and Tabor College. He has also been a clinical supervisor for the last 25 years in Australia at Relationship Australia and Anglicare, helping to guide and provide mentorship for many fellow counsellors.
His counselling experience spans over the period of three decades in being able to successfully help clients from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds using the latest counselling and psychotherapy skills. Rama is committed to continuing his professional development and continues to attend local and international courses and conferences and provides and receives monthly professional supervision.S
